Mortgage Rate

So i'm currently in the process of remortgaging and going to a new lender Nationwide via my FA.

I agreed with my FA the rate/deal I wanted and things are in motion i.e survey done by Nationwide, for sent to Nationwide and questionnaire sent to conveyancing company.

I'm just waiting for a offer from Nationwide. Checking Nationwide's website yesterday it seems the rate has come down.

Is it too late to get them to change it now at this stage?

You could have phoned your FA by the time you typed that!

You may have to pay another booking fee but it should be possible.

    Thanks for your help!

I wanted some helpful information before i called him as I suspect he will say it's too late as he has got his money already. (and no I won't be using him again).
  • I used L&C for mine, we dont exchange till the end of the month so i phoned them and they sorted it, a new mortgage offer was sent out the same day.

Now that there are no booking fees, it's very easy.

Broker gets product code and phones it through as a material change, or completes a material change form and uploads it to the case.

Just as an aside, Nationwide direct products and broker products aren't the same.

From a compliance point of view, we would have to produce a new KFI, amended reasons why letter and factfind continuation sheet to reflect the reason for the change, but as I reported recently when the product change happened, it's essential to ensure the client is getting the best possible deal if it can be amended cheaply and easily.

  • Just a quick update.

Contacted Nationwide and they resubmitted a revised offer for the new rate. No cost.

    £12 saving per month!!
