Hey Guys
I just wanted to point this out to some people, as I only noticed it recently.
If you have a large Sainsburys, chances are you will not just have a meat section, but also a "butchers" counter too. Well, in our local store, the butchers counter pre-wraps some meats, and it is displayed in a similar fashion to the standard meat. However, the prices differ drastically, for the same items.
For example, I tend to buy Lamb leg steaks a lot from Sainsburys,
The price per KG today when I checked, for the standard meat section packs, was £11.50 a kg (usually higher).
However, for West Country lamb leg steaks, which are packed and from the "butchers counter" are £8.50 a kg, for pretty much the same product, yet usually they are fresher and taste much better, so if you're looking for meat, always check the butchers area, as the prices vary drastically!

Just another example from today.
Sainsburys standpard meat packs Beef Rump - £17.00 per kg
Sainsburys butchers counter packs Beef Rump - £9 per KGLive for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0 -
Wow, big difference. Good spot, thanks.0

It's not only a big saving money wise, I also think the meat is of better quality too, much tastier!Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0

The meat is much nicer as well, I don't know why.
Ours also tends to do better reductions than the main fridges, so always worth a look for reductions too.0 -
The same is true of the fish counter. Often really good bargains to be had!0

I wanted some beef mince so checked out the 'butchery' shelves after reading on here. Unfortunately the labelling was limited so no indication for fat content and I specially wanted less than 5% fat.
I'll use the tip for other joints though.0 -
The fish on the fish counter at Sainsbury's is often 100% farmed but not labelled as such.0
