Hello. I need help. But not on a specific topic.......on everything. So I think a diary is needed rather than a post. The plain truth of the matter is. I am totally and utterly useless with money and food. I would rather spend my money on rubbish than pay my bills  that is meg mega stupid and irresponsible but its how I have been and what has got me into this mess I find myself at 57 I should be sorted. I have had a couple of issues in my past, but i don't feel they stress me out, so dont think its them. Money was tight when I was at home but we ate well and did not do without. I do remember hiding post for my mum. I will post more as I go. I have just got to get my life on track financially and healthily.
I have payday loan debts
Family debts
Friends debts
Some rent Arrears
I just feel the need to spend, I do not even have a flash house and car or lots of expensive stuff ? I just waste it. Then there is the extra weight, just eat because I want to, certainly not because I am hungry. I know I have enough money to live ok, if i could just stop spending and eating excessively on junk, that is money and food junk.
Well that is the basics. My plan is to get in here as often as possible and blog my way out of £S and LBS debt.

Hi £s, I'm a similar age and position to you. Loads of debt due to overspending and now having had a wake up call to sort it out before it's too late. It can be done! You just need to face up to actually how much debt it is and get a plan together to get it paid. National Debtline and Stepchange are charities that help people in debt. it will definitely be worth you having a look at their websites and giving them a ring for advice.
I was in despair after Christmas last year due to debt levels and wondering how I was going to cope. I realised something had to be done and contacted Stepchange and National Debtline for advice. They were great and I'm now in a much better place and have begun to pay down the massive debts I had...see my signature below.
Good luck £s. Give them a ring.Feb 2014 to now
Unsecured debt at highest £56,511/now £9,328 83% paid.
Mortgage £85,342/now £28,846 66% paid
2018 overpayment total - £5,500
Mortgage and debt free by August 20200 -
Hiya Historybuff, thank your for reading and posting, hope we can help each other out if we in similar situations. I will post in my signature, as I get my debt amounts together, good luck on your journey. I will keep an eye out for you x
After buying my food all I bought was a vase and that was in a charity shop £1.99......still £1.99 I did not need to spend but for my first day at this. No other money wasted today. I thought i did very very well. I have been like this all my adult life, I don't expect it will change over night.
I have been looking online and different sites and different info and ways to get my spending/eating under control. I do not get paid until a week come Friday and have very little money. I dont want to borrow more or up any of my payday loans. I will try and stretch it out as far I can. Feel good having somewhere I can put it all down. Its more real when typing it and its getting posted for others to read. Usually I just push it all to the back of my mind and don't deal with anything until the situation is critical and I am forced too, this causes me untold problems. Don't know why I do it. You would think all the sticky situations I have been in would have taught me something, but no I keep on doing it. I am also a big procrastinator. I leave everything till the last possible point, this also causes me untold problems. I am my own worst enemy, I cant even blame, no job or money.
I work night-shift, so off to work tonight. There I will have no spending problems , it will be food problems that I have to deal with. Constantly grazing all night, even though I wont be hungry. I need a distraction plan.

Fab that you are in a better place and your debts are coming down. You have done well in a year to pay them down. I don't feel I need a anyone to handle my debts. I need help in stopping spending and wasting. My debts are not huge and I can pay them, if i can sort myself out. I am going to do some rough budget planning tonight at work as a base and see what I can throw at my debts (amounts in sig to follow)
Thank You
