Advice: sports wear for husband

Christmas present time.

I know he is getting low on gym wear, and I also know he's been talking about looking at swapping to all natural fibres ( his other clothes are) because he has psoriasis. He spends quite a lot of time in the gym, visiting more than once a day often, for stress relief as much as fitness, and sometimes takes a class like yoga, for which he wears his normal gear.

He wears shorts. And occasionally gets jogger's nipple. :o

So, natural fibres makes me think bamboo might be a good thing to look at, any one any experience of bamboo sports wear.....how well it wears, how comfortable it is? Any thing to be wary of?

Any other suggestions for natural fibre sports wear?

He is pulling the shorts up too high!

I have only every used bamboo socks before and found that they wore out quite quickly as they did not seem to be as hard wearing but that could be a specific manufacturing issues I suppose.

There is some debate, if you search online, about how ethical and green bamboo fabric actually is.

:rotfl: lol, Tbc he's getting joggers nipple from cotton t shirts but he is reluctant to swap to synthetic and he would like to get out of synthetic shorts.

Wear might be an issue, thanks. He has quite muscular thighs and wear there is common in his trousers, and recently thought he might have to add compression shorts for under his normal shorts to his gym kit ( which he really prefers to be very basic )

Its not just a green and ethical issue sadly, but a health one that is his primary concern.

Merino wool all the way - smart wool, icebreaker etc. Can get them in different weights , but I usually wear them outdoors so not sure if they will all be too hot for indoors.

Possibly. He hates being too warm. He walked to the gym this morning ( not ran) at 6:30 in his tank and shorts. Sounds fab for out door wear though, worth mentioning, thanks.

Merino wool isnt for everyone, I've got an Icebreaker and its too hot and ichy for me and it was £45.00 as well!!!.
OP I'd go with moisture wicking t shirts, man made instead. Definatley the best for sport in my opinion as they dont leave you soaking and dry quickly. I have a sensitive skin myself. Bamboo is supposed to be good, take a look at these https://bambooclothing.co.uk/category/BAM013
I've not tried them myself but I might give them a go as I need new baselayers as well.
The Helly Hanson baselayers are also supposed to be good.http://shop.hellyhansen.com/us/item/hh-dry-stripe-crew-48800/?t_type=cat&COLOR=519+COBALT+BLUE. They are supposed to be non itch, lightweight and dry next to skin.

    Thanks. :)

I have opted for a yoga tank and shorts now in bamboo. This seems closest to what he'd choose. ATM his normal gym wear is bothering his skin so much he's even tried to work out in swimming shorts, so it cannot be worse that that I think.

Sticking plasters across his nipples might help.

Beware of hairs when removing. Maybe he should shave the area beforehand.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".
