Advise please - FIT FOR FREE Cancellation notice Query

Afternoon all,


Hope you can help, I've been with the gym for almost 18 months now but haven't been in the last 6 months so decided to finally cancel my membership on 14th October.


In the terms and conditions the cancellation period states 1 month notice, however after 2 weeks of still not receiving written confirmation and being charged my full DD again I emailed them, and now they are trying to say I have to give a calendar months notice and that the months notice would be from 1st November. However the t&c say nothing about a calendar month, it literally just says 1 month, so wouldn't it be a month from 14th October the day they received my notice?


Many thanks for any help you can offer, I know its only a few ££ but this is more over principle.
