Life insurance declined - does it affect my mortgage?

Hi,
I received a letter on Saturday to say that my life insurance application has been rejected due to medical reasons (I haven't had a full report yet but I expect this is because of all sorts of cancers and heart diseases in the family and me having some history of high blood pressure which is fine now but perhaps still higher risk for insurers).
Anyways, does this affect any of my mortgages? I haven't had the residential mortgage offer in post as yet (issued on Friday) but it is repayment. I do have a BTL mortgage as well which is currently going through.
I understand the other implication for the family and will try different insurers but I expect they may reject me too. I have 2 policies already but 1 of them is running out in 10 years and the other one is very little (50k). I wanted one to cover new resi mortgage of 450k.
I just worry about everything now and this whole stress may shorten my life!
My husband is organising for me a big 62 birthday party in a venue next to the insurance company! :cool: Everyone is invited! If I am still alive that is!

I have not read the post but no, they are totally independent of each other. You can have one without the other.... its just not a bad idea to try and protect it.
There are companies who will offer life insurance to people in not so good health, it could be worth speaking to a broker to see if they can help further.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Jeez you want a £450k mortgage at 62?
Is your husband older than you as well?0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
We are both 32 now and taking a mortgage for 30 years!
The x insurance company thinks they will have to pay out in the next 30 years so I will have a party in 30 years to prove them wrong! :beer:0
