first time post, dmp with payplan extra payments?

Hi everyone.
This is my very first posting on here but i have been looking on for ages.
Because of you all i had the courage to actually do something about my debts and called Payplan to arrange a DMP. I havnt got very far with it yet, just waiting for 2 of my creditors to confirm balance, then hopefully all systems go. My husband does not know anything of my nearly £30k debt and i have been nearly suicidel at times, but thanks to this forum i can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I cant wait for the money to start being sent to my creditors so i can feel that at last i am starting to pay off my debts. I am selling on ebay and doing a bootsale to raise extra cash., not sure how or who to make the odd extra payments to though, anyone with advice about that?

anyway thanks to you all and this wonderful forum xxx

I would see how you get on with the normal payments before considering paying extra. You could always save them up and then if you need them you have a buffer for unexpected costs.

thanks, i think i will save them up then if i need to i can pay one of the smaller ones off leaving more money for the others.

    thanks again
  • Good Afternoon,

I indeed brought this question up with PayPlan as I will be coming into some money next April/May time. They will consider using that money to pay off either a smaller debt (to share the payments made to that account with other creditors) or that with the higest interest (for example my HSBC overdraft still insists on charging 18.9% interest.)

    Hope this helps.
