I've just asked DS2 if he observed the 2 minute silence this morning. His reply was 'yes, I locked myself in the disabled toilet because I know I won't talk when Im in there' :o :A

My hospital trust observed the silence as best they could today :A it's difficult, being a hospital to get everyone everywhere to do it but those who wanted to or did, could. We stopped our training for two minutes. I know of bus drivers and taxi drivers who pulled over too.

Springdreams thank you for posting your pics of the poppies :D

I'm scratching my head and still trying to figure out if I'm the unluckiest person (on the Dr O pizza promo) going. Bought a hundred pizzas, 160,000 gift cards to be won, am I doing something wrong when I'm entering my codes? Law of averages obviously doesn't apply to me :rotfl:I'm still none the wiser on how you find out if you've won a gift card yet :(

I bought 6 first time and won a £5 T gift card (it tells you straight away once you've entered code if you've won, and asks for your address to send out the gift card), and since then two lots of 6 but no more gift cards.
I might get some more, from Morries; but to be honest I'm getting a bit bored of them already:( I've given away most of the MOCs to friends and colleagues.

I've found the remembrance stuff particularly powerful this year as has my OH and it just got to me.
Lots more coverage this year as it's the centenary, of course.
And more people talking about it as well, it seems to me - it wasn't until this year, for example, that I found out (not that it was a secret, or anything) that my great-grandad was a soldier at the Front, got gassed and sent home as an invalid.

    Bigs hugs to FC.

It is ok to be angry and fed up. You may have lost the future you planned, but have gained a new one which has the potential for lots of its own happy memories. Yes it's going to be tough sometimes, so let yourself take time to reflect and grieve, but then refocus yourself and show the world that it hasn't beaten you today.

Today is a bad day for you, but tomorrow may be better, always remember that in those dark hours :)

David, I really enjoy your quips, they remind me of a good friend and her attitude to life and always make me smile :)

    FC have an inappropriate :grouphug:

Thanks to the OP for mentioning the Christmas Orchard campaign. I didn't get notified either but it was on my homepage when I logged in. It's just taken me about 5 minutes to actually find their food to order section. For those who can't find the page, it's here:

This is the second time I've posted this. Bloody copy and paste won't work on my phone and it lost internet connection  I hope I can remember everything I put :o

FC you are a strong, amazing woman. For all the crap that life has thrown at you, you have thrown back a brilliant attitude, effectively telling life to "do one". You are so strong it everyone else, but who is strong for you? The Elite are always here for you but we can't come and find you and give you a big fat bear hug. However, we can be there for you wen you have moments like today.

It's perfectly natural that you get moments like that. I'd think you a bit "odd" if you didn't.

Your OH and kids are so, so lucky to have you. Their memories are going to be of a fantastic mum and wife who did her best to hold everything an everyone together. You simply cannot put a price on that.

I firmly believe that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I certainly wouldn't be the person I am today if I'd not gone through half the stuff that I have.

You have all gone through so much. And you have done it together. You will all come through this, and whatever life may throw at you in the future. You will come through it stronger, and together. It might not happen tomorrow, next week, next month or next year, but it will happen.

Lots of love to you all xx
