So, was just about to put a CCvM in for this afternoon after noticing the dishwasher tablets go to £6.49 in M (-£3.16 after apg if RTC£4 ) and thought worthwhile checking local store still RTC £4 first, glad I did...:eek:

    n3ndb4.jpg

The other day they had big £4 banner on them on the same stand.
Now, would it be acceptable to pop one on the order and refuse it?
...I'm thinking of not putting a CC in at all now, have until 1pm to decide

    Morning :)

Can anyone beat this - I received my first Christmas card yesterday :eek::eek:

DD1 put a bowl with a metal spoon in the microwave last night. There were sparks and smoke. It still seems to be working but do you think it is Ok? We only got it in June

I think this is too risky for me :rotfl: still new to it all and risk averse!
If I had expiring vouchers I might have given it a go.

Should be fine, metal only normally sparks if it comes into contact with the sides though! The smoke would have been stuff coming off the spoon as it got rather hot. You can put metal in a microwave, it just does not cook through it.

Although it's better safe than sorry, was the smoke from the thing inside the microwave or from the back ?

If only for a couple of seconds and if the smoke was from the spoon/bowl, and if it doesn't look damaged/scorched on the door or inside, then I would heat up something like a pint of water in it for couple of mins to check it's ok.

Personally I would keep it if looks ok, but my OH would prolly never touch it again if she had seen sparks.

Back from M, vodka didn't work. Wait till you hear the story ........

Bought 1 bottle green Mark vodka plus some loose carrots - came to 15.68. Gave SA 3 £5 Morries points vouchers.

SA - sorry u can't use more than one in a single transaction
ME - er I don't think so, can you check please
2nd SA - yes you can, oh she's got 3. I'll have to check
3rd SA - yes, customer is right, you can save them up, I'll put them through for you. :D

I paid the 68p and checked my receipt - only 3000 More Points shown. Straight to cust serv.

Me - I'm missing some Match points from my purchase, you should be price matching S so I'm owed 4999 points.
CS - Oh I see you've paid with vouchers, you won't get Match points if you use vouchers to pay for shopping
Me -  I think you've got that wrong
CS - oh well, we had this points problem yesterday, but not on vodka, I'll check for you
Me - is there a way you can check on your system for S price?
CS- no we don't have the Internet here, but we are having wifi put in soon.
Me - do you not have a computer out back?
CS - no we just have our own phones
Me - would you like to see my phone, I can show you S price
CS - oh yes please. CS looks at my phone. Ok, I need to check with the manager. Can I borrow your phone and show the manager?
Me - Yes of course .... Thinks, hope she doesn't look at all the screen shots of elite posts I keep on there and sees all he HUKD alerts that ping through :rotfl:
CS - we think we have got to the bottom of it. You can't get match points and more points on the same transaction
Me - is that what your manager told you because this is wrong :rotfl:
CS - yes and you definitely won't be able to get match points on alcohol otherwise it brings it below the price in which the government says we can legally sell it at
Me .... Thinks what about all the grants we bought yesterday :rotfl:
    - ok I'll just get a refund then
CS - well as a gesture of good will we will refund you the £4.99 in cash as you've been kept waiting
Me - oh thank you :rotfl::rotfl:

I've never heard so much garbage in my life :T

  • Morning, NSD for me hopefully.
It's bills week so lots coming out, sometimes I wonder if I'd be better spreading them out more throughout the month but then I realise I'd be checking my bank account much more than I already do. At least I know when everything comes out each month and I know how much I need to be there.

    Happy birthday Bubbs
I saw lego minecraft sets in WHSmith today for £10 - they had a few different sets.

Thanks springdreams I don't have a WHSmiths nearby and I've checked online but nothing there but thank you for letting us know, maybe others looking will be lucky and get them :)
