We have three cats. Cats don’t have big stomachs so they need to eat little and often Our Sophie needs to eat dainty amounts. If she tries to eat as much as her big brothers sometimes there is a bit of regurgitation especially if she has also had a mouse half an hour before, yuk.
Cat food is messy and smelly so for hygiene and health purposes I keep a tight rein on what they eat and when so everything is eaten up and there are no left overs attracting flies.
During the day when they are coming and going I give whoever is in and invariably hungry a cat food sachet – these are 100g Felix and Whiskas. I also open the sachets out as they like to lick the insides and often will be quite happy licking the inside of a sachet out in preference to eating anything left in their bowl
If the weather turns and they are all come home I divide a can between– they are eating their way through the free Butchers fish or meat at the moment- about 400g in a can so they might eat ½ or ¾ in one sitting at least.
After dinner I put their 3 dishes out for the night, again I empty a can out so they help themselves during the evening. Their dishes are then topped up again before bedtime if everything has been eaten up, maybe a sachet or two so they don’t starve during the night. Ronnie has claws that cant retract so when he walks on the stairs or on the laminate it sounds like someone in stilettos and he will start traipsing up and down the stairs at 5 if he gets hungry and no one is awake to feed him
In the morning sometimes they all go out without breakfast but whoever is left in gets whatever is left in the can and/or a sachet to themselves. If the weather if horrible no one wants to go out, everyone is in and then they can eat an entire tin between them before going back to bed.
So that the normal daily routine when I am in charge of the asylum.
If I leave OH to see to the cats last thing at night and first thing I come down in the morning after he has set off for work to find NINE EMPTY FELIX SACHETS dumped on the kitchen floor next to the dishes .
There is still food in all three dishes as he has piled them all up but all cats have now gone out for the morning or back to bed.
The left overs will probably go for fox food later as the cats won’t touch food that has been hanging around all morning.
You can if you are careful open a can without getting food on your hands but it’s impossible to open 9 sachets without making a mess and having to wash your hands all over again so it’s not time, effort or labour saving. Why not make things simple by just opening a can – they will even eat straight out of the can itself if need be.
OH has no logical explanation for opening 9 sachets rather than a couple of cans. He does not see it as a problem, having sachets all over the floor and left over food in the dishes and possible flies and smell in the kitchen.
I think I need to put a post it note on the kettle to remind him not to keep opening sachets and to put a can of cat food can directly infront of the kettle so he has no excuses.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

I am English more or less, though my great great grandfather was Scots!
As for shampoo, I have to use Head and shoulders. I can get away with using a different shampoo once, but after that have to go back to it. Not only the dandruff, but it keeps my hair under control! Annoyingly this means I cannot participate in the shampoo glitches or any of the shampoo trials! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
