Can you not ask your vet to give you something for her tweets?

We let off fireworks in our back garden, but they do not bother our dog as we trained him from young not to be afraid of loud noises.

Hopefully after tonight fireworks will be gone til next year.

Poppy wasn't this bad last year she ignored them if she was in the house and if she couldn't hear any would go out.

Must have been when that rocket last year just missed hitting her she's like an elephant never forgets ;)

    Good Afternoon

With lots of conversation about phone contracts I was wondering if anyone knows the best deal for a PAYG phone with no Internet, that lasts as long as you have credit ( doesn't run out after 30 days )
I had the special deal some of us were lucky enough to get last year, but it's about to run out and have cancelled. The best I can find is 8p per minute. Thanks.

    Three payg
    3p minute
    2p text
    1p mb
    Hth xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.

hi tweets a few years ago a mate recommended I use calpol for my dogs for pain I asked my vet and she researched and ok'd it sugar free and she weighed him and said he could handle a dose of 10ml(he is over 10 stone though lol)anyway long story short it had a slightly sedative effect on him like it does with kids at a dose of 5ml he is alert enough to still eat but fireworks made him hyper-ventilate but the calpol just makes him sleepy she also told me dogs can tolerate paracetol based products but ibuprofen is extremely toxic to dogs hope poppy is ok tonight HTH xxx

Thank you I have no calpol in :(

Wonder if squirting half a syringe of brandy into her mouth would have the same effect I have a bit in a bottle don't know how long its been there though.

  • Afternoon all. I'm sure those who are doing the Quidco Christmas bonus promo have noticed but there are some "two birds with one stone" opportunities - just as an example, Groupon and Living Social are both on "the list" and each of them has a deal at the minute for Snapfish which is also one of the retailers on the list, so you should be able to buy your voucher from Groupon/Living Social which counts as one retailer, then use that voucher on Snapfish to cross off another retailer. Hope that make sense! There may well be more things that overlap in this way.

Also if it is of any use, an offer popped up on The Works website giving me a free delivery code which it said can be used on any order - it was the kind of animal Rudolph is all in caps.

My dog used to hate fireworks and was a nervous wreck.
So much so that the vet prescribed her a mild sedative.

I didn't really want to have to go down that line but it did really help her over the worst of the firework period.

If she starts next year I will have to do something :(

I turned all lights off and she eventually came out of the living room I had front door open so she could go out but she ran upstairs into bedroom.

First thing she wee'd on her fleece blanket . I didn't shout just fetched the fleece down and threw in the washer.

Went back upstairs and she had been sick on carpet down I came again for stuff to clean it

I left her shivering and panting on the floor and I must have eventually fallen asleep because next I knew it was 3amish and she was waking me to go out.

So out she went and came back to bed and fell asleep on bed.

She ok now but I am dreading tonight because next door but one normally have a fireworks display for the kids

Hope she will be ok tonight, we have a very nervous dogue and any noise can set her off. We have a 'Thundershirt' you can get these at pets at home and this has really helped Queenie, still nervous but 100% better than she normally is with fireworks etc. HTH.s Would love a ban on fireworks or at least only for one day and not the 2 weeks it seems to go on for now.

Hi Archiequeenie nice to see you posting :D.

I was thinking about buying her a thundershirt .
Someone on here if I say name it will be wrong my memory is  bought their dog one and said they will update me if it worked.
