Dearest Debt-Busters...
Forgive me butting in here but I wanted to say a few words of encouragement (:o) and a little good-bye.
Today is my last day at home before I fly to South East Asia :j:j:j to start my life on the road as a digital nomad. I have given up my job, my flat and said good-bye to my friends in order to follow my dream!
My journey started on MSE in 2012 though - and I am posting here for the last time (well.... for now!).
I started with £16,600 worth of debt and ended with £10,000 in cash to take with me.
The 3 little things I live by are simple;-
So keep going, push, push, push to the end. The people I met on here are the reason I succeeded. So many knowledgeable and helpful, kind folk to cheer you on.
If I can do it so can you!

- Choose a goal.
- More money should be coming in than going out
- Pay towards your debt or savings first each month.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".

Goodbye to you NSK,
I hope you have some amazing times in the coming months, you've certainly earnt them
I'd like to thank you for all you've done for us folks on MSE, certainly for me. I was £42,000 in debt when I first stumbled upon MSE. Your monthly challenges got me hooked and today I'm £2,400 away from being debt free and will certainly acheive this before Christmas. This was in no small part to you and all the time and effort you put in to helping complete strangers like myself.
So if you're ever feeling down just remember your big heart and generosity of spirit have made such a difference in peoples lives and the world would have been a darker place had you never been in it.
Bon voyage

Kat, I can honestly say that without your challenges I wouldn't have been debt free nearly as quickly, and I wouldn't have learned really, truly, how to use money well. It's very rare you can use this word in the proper context, but farewell! I hope your travels are everything you've dreamed of... don't forget to drop in and make us jealous occasionally!
Proud to be debt free September 2014. :j
