Advice on a new hoover needed please

Last year I bought a Dyson animal slimline looking Hoover. I had had Dyson befor which had lasted 8 years.
I am really disappointed with this one because the dust holder is tiny and the suction isn't great. The tools are really plasticity.
I have a Labrador who moults a lot!
Any ideas on a well priced strong suction Hoover please..I really want to change it.I know it isn't moneysaving but it is poor :(

My Henry Numatic isn't bad. It has a Hi and Low suction function and costs (I think?) about £100 in the shops now. My only bugbear is that the attachments sometimes come apart while vaccing, which can be a bit annoying. The only vac I've seen which doesn't do that is my sister's Miele, but I imagine a Miele would be pricey.

  • I have a Bissell pet Hoover and it is amazing, I have 2 border collies and 2 cats and the amount of hair it picks up really leaves the place looking clean. I have also seen a reduction in the dust as well. Might be worth checking the Bissell site as they sometimes have offers on hovers. :D

Henry Hoover every time. Absolutely the most solid, dependable thing around. Every professional cleaner uses them. Has to be a reason for that. And my relatives who have dogs swear by them. £100 or so but you know you won't be likely to haveoto replace it in a few years. Money well spent I think.

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

  • Thanks guys...I have heard Henry's are good. I will test one out along with a miele..the dog means I have to hoover twice a day!

I'm not sure which models but our local tesco had Bissels and Henry's reduced. Wasn't paying much attention but I know one of the Bissels was reduced to £34.50.

  • Our friend has a Miehle and her carpets literally have stripes after she hoovers...her rooms look like a perfect lawn after being mowed! I've never seen suction like it & hubby and I have said it's exactly what we'll get when our old Dyson ever dies.
  • That is really good to know. Will take a look tomorrow. Thank you merzal.

Get a Henry Extra though, better with a head with rollers to pick up pet hairs.

I have had one for years and no problem with hairs from my long haired cat.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Another vote for Miele Cat and Dog vacuum. I have had loads of different ones over the years and this is definitely the best vacuum I have ever owned .
