I was wondering what is the average cost of buildings and contents insurance per month for 5 bed house would be?

Ive been quoted about 40.00 per month for Buildings & Contents with Accidental Damage & £1k Personal Possessions"

  • Thanks all...that's what I'm concerned about - the finer details. Thanks

What do you mean? They are a price comparison website not an insurance provider.

    Forget the per month.

Insurance is normally taken out for a year.

Mine, for a 3 bed semi, items away from the home, personal possessions, accidental damage is £160
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • You get what you pay for has always been something I've truly believed in. I've been stung in the past going with the "Cheapest" option... never again.

get some quotes. look over the fine detail. work out what exactly you need it to cover and go from there.

Personally I've always had Family Legal cover on mine. It's been a godsend on two occasions where we required legal advice. worth the extra in my view..... look at excesses, are "mobile" items included, everythings "mobile" now a day.... phones, tablets, laptops, etc.....

The Devils in the detail !!!

I am with direct line too - was around £220 I think for a 3 bed - for the "premium" package - seems to cover most things - and less need to specify valuables etc

Also includes free worldwide travel insurance
