HMRC ought to have her details on their computers although they may not be correlated properly.
I would suggest that that she phones in the first instance as they can often adjust things whilst on the phone : writing can take months to get a response.
At least try to get the code split 50-50 and cumulative (rather than M1)0 -
you could write down then phone with the information in front of you.0
