Remortgaging on a Stepchange DMP

I am a husband and father of two that is currently on a Stepchange DMP since Jan 2014. My mortgage is currently with the Woolwich on a variable rate and is very low at the moment (£488 per month on a 30 year £175000 repayment mortgage) I am after advice on whether I should stick with the variable and hope there are no changes or do I go for a long term fixed. Also need advice on if there are penalties for people trying to remortgage on a DMP
Many thanks

You won't be able to remortgage.
Best you can hope for is a customer retention product from your existing lender.
