Worried about a mortgage taking forever exbankrupt

Options
Please help me. I went bankrupt in 2006 and was discharged in 2007. My family currently live in my sisters house and we are attempting to buy it off her. My sisters friend is a mortgage broker so we thought we would all use her.
For a deposit we were going to use some inheritance but as thats taking ages to come through my parents are remortgaging to help us out till it comes through.
Anyway our mortgage amount would be for £142,500 and bearing in mind we started all this in June/July we keep having said friend calling saying there is another form to fill in or sign and more wage slips to be provided. Anyway as I signed a load of these forms i noticed that one of them had a load of ticks on it - as I looked at what the ticks were for, one of them was "have you ever been bankrupt?" and she had ticked no. When I confronted her about it she said "I didn't hear you say that and besides as its over 7 years ago and not on your credit report it wont matter".
I am currently recovering from breast cancer and am on long term sick but still being paid. Its still dragging on and now they want a reference from my employer which I'm scared about as they can say I'm on long term sick.
Has anyone had so many issues with Kent Reliance?

Kent Reliance are an administratively/form heavy lender.

I assume there is some other things in the background aside from bankruptcy historically, as otherwise unsure why they would have been selected?

thanks for getting back to me. Apparently our broker first tried precise but they didnt like the fact we were buying from my sister who also lives here so then she said Kent reliance would do it. My works messed up my pay in sept so sent my payslip through with a payment of 0.00 showing as my wages but payroll said it would be sorted for oct payslips to show double so I sent my broker another months of bank statements to show my full wages had gone in and then on the 22nd oct I was able to send them my Oct payslip showing 2 payments but they are still not happy and have now sent the letter asking for a reference already but without a name of who they have sent it to, I can't hurry it along or find out if they are going to say I'm on long term sick etc.
Do you happen to know what they wish to know? I have worked at my current employers since May 1999

my husband had a poor credit before we got together, then I took over the finances. (my bankruptcy was from my first husband not paying bills, mortgage, and running up my credit cards and I tried my hardest to not go bankrupt and managed to pay all the payments up to date when I went BR and sold my house to pay everyone back from it)

    Oh sh.... sugar.

Bankruptcy is a matter of public record. The details are in the Gazette. Lenders often subscribe to data feeds from the Gazette, which they match with loan applications .....

You don't want to be there.

Kent Reliance need to be informed of the truth of your bankruptcy record, before they find out for themselves. Your mortgage broker should be reported to the regulators so they can throw the book at them.

I would suggest using a different broker. At least one that is professional.

As far as the lender is concerned you've lied on your application.

Your solicitor should pick your bankruptcy up on their searches and are duty bound to report this to the lender.

Sometimes this can cause problems after offer so it is best the lender is informed now.

Kent Reliance will consider bankrupts three years discharged so I do not see it as a deal breaker.

Yeeha! Mortgage has been approved!! I contacted Kent Reliance and informed them about the BR and bluffed about how i ticked the wrong box - anyway they sent a new form out and I sent them details of the BR and all is ok. Yes it was mainly down to OH poor credit rating rather than my BR. But thankyou for your repies x
