Friday 31st October 2014 - What small DFW things will you do today?

  • The good news is that the job son2 has gone for is actually £3.95 an hour (not £2.70) and he seems very hopeful that he will be offered it. He also has £600 in his account and is going to look at a motorbike for £500 tomorrow.

I have now got a complaint number and a named person dealing with my gas complaint. Have sent them (another) photo of the meter and a copy of the final statement from our old supplier. If I don't get a sensible answer this time I will try with the Ombudsman (but their website says the complaint has to be 8 weeks old or in deadlock - I have already checked!).

    Have a good evening x

Have just got finished with work and have Crashed bigtime. Am really glad I did lots this am as I am now ready for bed and wondering if 5.40 is too early....
Anyway I have to wait for Tesco to deliver the weeks food then I can sneak off.

Have cancelled any idea of going anywhere this weekend as hopefully this can ensure no spending. Why is it so hard to resist impulse shopping?
    Night all. x

Boberella - I totally understand about the family time. DH is self employed and works at least 6 days a week (7 days during Summer and run up to Christmas). You have to cherish the time together, hope you have a lovely day

Thanks so much Getting Organised. That is so kind of you. If your OH is anything like me he feels very guilty for the amount of time spent away from his family. I remember reading some quote that was like 'self employment working 100 hours a week so you don't have to work 40 for someone else'
We have had a lovely day. Trick or treating was ace. We were out for an hour, so many nice people out & about & going to the trouble to give the kids a good time. Looking forward to snuggling up with Lewis & a cup of tea very shortly.

  • As I posted early today, I thought I'd come back and update my list. I must admit doing the list in the morning makes you feel more aware of what you should do throughout the day, rather than just reflecting. I should do it this way more often.

All meals from stores DONE -even resisted a takeaway on the way home when I was very hungry. I opted for cheese and mushroom on toast instead - I really should have had something before I went out
Meal plan and shopping list (I started last night but was feeling very uninspired) DONE
Go shopping - will start in @ldi but will probably need to go to @sda too. DONE -both were very busy and I lost my temper in @sda and gave up without 2 items on my list, which means another small trip (NOT AT @SDA) tomorrow
Will put some diesel in the car at @sda - cheapest around. I've managed without putting any in all week, which I wouldn't have got away with if I was at work, so I've saved some money there. DONE - this should last until next weekend
Check BB and PCL - DONE
    Check bank
Update spending diary after shopping (I'm currently up to date, but need to get back into the habit of updating after each spend/day) DONE
Finish homework project with DD - which will give us a homework free weekend DONE
Try to last without putting the heating on DONE
Do any washing, if enough for a full load. Not enough for a full load, although there will probably be enough tomorrow for a light, dark and towel wash!I may even do my ironing today, again to keep the weekend clear.
Get DD ready for Halloween Party and that will be us out for the evening. It's near DH's work, so he can come too (yeah - I so often have to go on my own to these type of things, I feel like a single parent). DONE -had a lovely time
Call in to see F-I-L and family after party for a brew. DONE

Well, got up. Made 2 banana loaves from old bananas. Pascal recipe. Best banana loaf recipe ever.
Made some cinammon and cranberry rolls, currently proving away nicely
Idea is to freeze half of these for Christmas. This is a fab recipe. Lottie off the food network.
Done Chickens. Amused dog. Fed birds and am now watching a film I recorded months ago. Happy days. Now to resist spending..

Ah Maria. Just posting to say sorry you've had no replies. We are over on the Saturday & Sunday thread now. You could copy & paste into there maybe??
