Mortgage Lender Unhelpful! Please Advise

I sold my house and paid my mortgage off in full last December. The Lender, NatWest, charged me the standard £225 in exit admin fees (MEAF). I had taken the mortgage out as a fixed rate deal in 2003, renewed at a new fixed rate in 2005 and then repaid in full in 2006.
I contacted them by telephone, enquiring about a refund as these charges are unreasonable (see Martin's table of lenders). They told me that because the fees had been reviewed by the lender, to £225, in 2004 I was not entitled to any refund of charges.
Is this accurate or utter bolony? What should I do now?
