stupid thing to do

Yes thats the point but like we said before the worst comes to worst we can downsize if we decide I want to give up work completely. My OH can't cover it all we need both incomes. Having said that I have just been on entitledto and based on our wage we will also get £20 tax credit and £18 child benefit so that will help with the nappies/formula! I guess I have a huge shock when baby arrives anyway

We regularily spend all our spendo it covers our mobile phone bills/pressies for birthdays/goingout/etc. We need to cut that down. We are living the lives of carefree young marrieds and we need to be more responsible we are fnally having that dawn on us.
The reason we want to get the mortgage down if possible is that it feels like a weight around us and we know we have been stupid adding to it - so we want to try and clear what we added to it as soon as we can then go back to paying what we originally were which was a much more manageable figure. I don't know if that makes any sense but i guess its like as if say we had our original £115K mortgage and then had loans that amounted to £50K which we wanted rid of asap.0 -
oops i missed something off my soa when i pasted my spreadsheet i missed the bottom 2

Lots of people do what you have done and add on to mortgages it is so easy. But I honestly now would not worry you have a baby on its way, if you are not careful you could add more money onto debts which is daft when you are overpaying a mortgage!
Don't forget breastfeeding is free and well worth it - I don't regret feeding any of my 3 just that I did not do it longer and nappies well Tesco ones are fab! These are the small bits of parenting a baby. Its all positive whats ahead of you - just get used to budgetting and a lifestyle that is more ecnomical and it won't be such a shock to you later.
For example you could probably come down to pay as you go mobile wise for a few months - definately don't take on another contract if possible. The more you do now the more you keep the house. But definately don't beat yourself up other things - bet you wouldn't do it again if you had a fresh start and thats the important thing learning!0 -

Then do a sponsored event once or twice a year instead of money out your own pocket or donate old clothes etc still helping!0
