I think I'll email opalescense and see if they would test it for me. I feel so stupid now, I could have caused all sorts of damage if it isn't the legit stuff. Even if it is the real thing, I'll not be buying toothpaste online anymore. I'm shocked that people can sell such dangerous products. I thought it was just the same as buying it from a supermarket.

Thanks for the info about the root canal, Toothsmith. That's made it much clearer for me about the endodontist. I've decided to keep seeing the new private dentist, as the other dentist just made me feel uneasy. Its very confusing because although the tooth is fine now, she told me that might happen but I should still get the root canal done that day. I just felt she was rushing into it. The new dentist found nothing wrong and he seemed much more skilled and did a more thorough exam so I'm happy to go with his opinion.

Amazon marketplace does not give you any assurance that what you buy is real. I would question the wisdom of buying any medical product from it. Sometimes the reviews give you a clue but even then amazon do not police what is sold http://www.amazon.co.uk/Braun-Oral-B-Precision-Replacement-Toothbrush/dp/B00A4EQUL0

The difference between NHS and private is typically the time that the dentist can spend on you. I've had NHS root canal and I think she was able to spend about 10 minutes or so doing the treatment. With private treatment they'd spend as long as was needed with no incentive to rush. If you have a lot of teeth problems it might be worth getting some sort of dental plan where you pay monthly.
