Odd Nationwide Text Message

Options
I submitted my mortgage application a week ago thursday, and on the Friday I got the following text from Nationwide:

"Hi, Nationwide here. The valuation has been rescheduled to . There's no need to be present unless we've arranged this with you."

Rescheduled to....??? Anyone have any ideas what this means?

Thanks in advance.

They are trying to get a booking date and haven't yet done so. It happens a lot.

  • Thanks kingstreet. While you're here, any thoughts on how long a Nationwide first time buyer 90% LTV mortgage application takes in Scotland, on average?

    Not a clue.

If it's in Scotland, is a valuation required, or will they use the home report?

  • There's a valuation in all the home reports but Nationwide appears to need their own revaluation.

The period between application to offer depends on the documentation provided being correct and accepted and how long it takes to get a valuation booked, done and the report back.

Our cases typically take about a week to ten days, but most of what we do is sub 85% because we're newbuild specialists.

I have no idea why Lender's insist on using these 'auto update' sms text systems.

They are totally useless and only lead to confusion.

Where possible we opt our clients out of them.
