It is an activity that has a tag line of trick or treat, and you say it does not promote evil.


An activity that people go round knocking on doors, affecting the elderly or lonely not evil.

Furthermore, what I choose to do is nothing to do with anyone else or how they behave.

I love pumpkin in general...we always have a stash that's fresh or canned at home. I love putting a bit in with my porridge in the mornings with cinnamon, enjoy it in my shortbread recipe, often make curried pumpkin soup...and especially love making pumpkin spice fairy cakes or loaves (they freeze beautifully as the pumpkin keeps them so moist)...not to mention pumpkin pies to share at Thanksgiving with all the family/friends/neighbours. It's delicious.

Hope you find some good uses - they're very easy to grow if you want more next year too.

If you knock on someone's door, especially the elderly, or infirm, who do not want your so called fun, to me that is evil. Knocking nd demanding trick or treat, is demanding money with menaces. Extortion.

I do, and I live my life to the full. But what I do not do is follow sheep. You buy your sweets, trick, evil things and specially made cakes at excessive prices. Me, I know that next week, they will be less than half price, and me, I will celebrate my birthday knowing I got a bargain, because the emporiums did not get as rich selling to the likes of evil doers.

BoP.. you missed the condoning of violence dressing up as murders, murder victims, the undead, creatures of the night such as werewolves, witches which are scary.. that is the whole point..


I'd be more concerned about children knocking on the doors of sex offenders, drug dens and brothels .. not that I know of any locally but isn't that the whole point?

I have never taken mine ToT-ing but if I did I would only visit houses with obvious decorations or friends/family.


I don't see how cooking a pumpkin is relevant to a rant on the evils of All Hallows Eve meant to evoke "humor and ridicule to confront the power of death." Christian religious observances of All Hallows' Eve, including attending church services and lighting candles on the graves of the dead.. All saints day is 1st November
