hope someone can give me some inspiration on this!
i am 35 weeks pregnant wity first child (a girl) and have been amazed by the generosity of friends and family giving us gifts and hand me downs and i would like to use some of my time between finishing work and giving birth to organise some small gifts or hampers for these people. i am not sure whether to make give a gift to give each couple or to do gifts for the ladies and gents seperately. i also have no idea of budget so as you can see i am pretty clueless! anything people can suggest will be a great help.

If it was me I'd be waiting for the baby to be born - taking some pics and do little thank you cards/photo albums with the pictures but I guess that doesnt give you anything to be working on now.2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0

I agree with Scottish lass pictures of the baby and a footprint on the photo fram is always appreciated.
Maybe get a book on sweet making or go on to one of the sites on here and make some of your own sweets like peppermint creams (very easy) truffles etc.
Make your own photo frames and cards. Collect pine cones and flowers and press the flowers to add to cards.
Scour charity shops etc for nice boxes ad wicker baskets etc.,
And most of all enjoy yourself!!0

Personally I wouldn't want a gift back - But I always think it would be lovely to have a photo sent to me with the baby wearing the clothes I has sent - or playing with the toy I had sent.
For the grannies and grandads I love these mugs CLICK - only £2.50 postage x
Good Luck with everything :T:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0

I have to agree. I'm sure no-one will be expecting a gift back... Save the budget for when the baby comes...you'll be skint!
I think that you should just do some really nice thank you cards for when the baby is born...everyone will appreciate that.
One of our very good friends had a baby recently...I sent flowers and bought toys...spent over £50.00 and we didn't get a birth announcement or Thank you card...I was very disappointed...just a small thank you would have been more than sufficient!0

I agree with what has already been said. I gave out cards with the baby photo on the frint and everyone loved them. I think that is all that is needed. No-one will be expecting anything apart from a thank you!Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

Gifts I would not give something in return for - you would not give people something back as they have given you something nice for your birthday. Hand me downs on the other hand, the person passing it on could have sold it & bought something new for their child with the profit - I would get something for the children that you have the hand me downs of - clothes or toys or you could even offer to take them to the cinema or if trying to save money a little lunch party (inside or out depending upon the weather)

When our son was born my wife got our friends a baby art print from http://www.giftsnprezzys.com , it lets you create a mold of your babies foot or hand print. Not the cheapest option but unique. But that still leaves you with nothing to do but wait.0

I wouldn't worry about giving them presents, they won't expect it.
I agree with the cards once baby is born. How about the 'magic print cards' on www.bay-bee.co.uk take a look on the keepsake co shop.0
