Christmas (easy) crafts and group presents?

439 Posts
Hi all,
Just after a bit of help! I have a 3 year old and I'd love some ideas for things we can do together for Christmas e.g. paper chains. He's not that crafty but will happily sit and watch me do it
I also run two groups for parents and children- Netmums and Gingerbread- and have some meets to plan for the next few months. I'm a bit stumped for activities/things to do with the groups in this cold weather. Preferably free or cheap! I can only think of park or soft play indoors, but need better ideas! I also need ideas for small gifts for the families who come to the groups. I am doing a meal near Christmas for all and want to give a little something to say thank you and merry Christmas. Was thinking sweet cones, but have some vegetarians, not sure?
Thank you, hope this the right board!

i don't have kids so I may be a little out with my suggestions regarding age appropriate activities but hopefully they could be things he could do, or "help" you do.
A few years ago we did these baubles with my nephew (he was 6 I think) but should be easy enough and it's a nice gift for family members as well (remember to put name and year on the bottom!)

Also for Christmas cards there are a few cool options that use kid's fingerprints such as:

As you can see, there's loads of inspiration on Pinterest! I have to admit, I enjoyed making all of these as an adult!
Again I don't know much about it but have you looked into the Elf on a Shelf thing? He might find that fun?
I've also just type 'Christmas crafts for kids' into the Pinterest search box and there are hundreds of ideas - like making a wreath out of kid's handprints etc - if you have a look on there you should see what your son would enjoy making
Have fun!
