£8.50 champagne trick? Min 6 bottles (RRP £18)

There’s a cracking champagne deal on at Sainsbury’s online. The worst case scenario is you get a 75cl bottle of Antoine De Clevecy champagne for £10.50 - already the cheapest on the market. But newbies to Sainsbury.co.uk may effectively get it for less with a bit of playing. Corking!

Read how to do it in our Deals Hunter blog.

  • Herewith my order confirmation for 12 bottles:

    Order summary
    Items in your trolley £126.00
    Delivery cost Free
    Voucher savings: -£15.00
    Other savings: -£90.00
    Total cost: £111.00

Not quite £8.50 a bottle but still a good deal at £9.25. (Might have been £8.50 if I'd bought in-store?)

I don't seem to be getting the 25% off ? The £20 off code is working but when I add 6 bottles in it only takes an additional £4.00.

  • It works. I have placed an order. Thanks very much for the tip.

£50 for 6 bottles here after the £15 voucher and £2 delivery, making it £8.33/bottle. Didn't need to order anything else either.
  • Got it! £50.00 for 6 bottles including delivery - excellent. Thanks for the tip.

Brilliant, followed the instructions from pjran on this MSE thread Sains wine 25% off 6 bottles - as a new customer managed to get six bottles for £46!

    Items in your trolley £63.00
    Delivery cost £3.00
    Voucher savings: -£20.00
    Other savings: -£45.00
    Total cost: £46.00

Was dead tempted to order more than six like briesmith above but didn't want my order declined! Interesting that although they say it is limited to 6 bottles, the system does allow you to select more. Would be interested to know if yours all get delivered briesmith?

Like WeirdoMagnet, I was concerned that ordering 12 bottles (like briesmith) would 'decline' the order.
Called the very helpful Sainsbury's Online (freephone - 0800 328 1700) Team and they confirmed that all 12 bottles would be delivered at 25% off (as it does say "25% off 6 or more"). But obviously the unit price goes up a bit as the £15 newbie discount is applied across 12 and not 6 bottles.
Friday night is music night - proof will come by 7pm on Friday, so we'll see if it shows up. I]well, it's now Friday at 7.30pm, and all 12 bottles were delivered at the reduced price, no need to order £15 of 'other goods' - so it all worked perfectly[/I

BTW, forgot to add that this deal is slightly less attractive than the same deal in May 2014 '25% off 6 bottles or more', and £15 code for newbies - as the starting price of the product was £13.00 (£1 cheaper). This champagne is very drinkable and still good value at the slightly higher price.

NOTE: Don't forget to decline any substitutions in your 'My Account' and 'My Preferences', otherwise who knows what they'll give you.

Used the supplied code for newbies and got a great deal as used to get our favourite Piper Heidsieck for £13 a bottle (normally £25), delivered... Thank you
