Hi, I would suggest that you ring the company and explain to then you gave started a dmp- they should make a note on your file- you will still end up with the default though.0

Would it still go to a debt collection agency...0

Hi chish
It's quite normal to continue to get letters like this during a DMP and there is no need to give this creditor any special treatment.
The debt may well be passed to a debt collection agency, but as they have no special legal powers you not should not let this concern you. Just make sure to let Stepchange know if the debt changes hands so that they can route payments to the correct destination.
If anything, it may be easier for Stepchange to get interest and charges frozen once a debt passes to a collection agency.
Hope that helps
Dennis

Yes I think contacting Stepchange rather than the creditor is the right thing to do here. After all the whole point of a DMP is that someone else can handle this correspondence on your behalf and spare you the worry.
