Check here before buying anything or paying apple
https://www.apple.com/uk/support/iphone5-battery/
FYI genuine apple batteries are very hard to come by:beer:0 -
Definitely check if yours is one of the recalled batch
If it is, back it up and book an appointment with Apple. They will loan you a phone while they send yours off to get a new battery for free.
Only problem is at the moment you can only book for 6 days in advance0 -
I need a 4s battery. In the past I bought spare Nokia & Andriod smartphone batteries, no-name but seemed as good as proper ones.
Getting a reasonably priced iPhone one seems to be a minefield with not one seller escaping bad reviews. iPhone batteries are chipped, true/false? No-name ones could be unsafe, true/false?0 -
bought a iphone 4 s battery £5 with fitting kit from ebay 3 months ago
Its working perfect now!0 -
@Kingsd316
Thanks very much for this info.
I've had nothing but bother with my battery for the last 4-5 months & resorted to a full factory reset which has helped but still not good.
Phone hits 20-30% then suddenly dies. Stick it on charge & it starts off @ about 40%. Been doing my head in lol
Was just about to change it for the 6 but I'll keep it now on a sim only deal & save £20+ a month
Cheers
A proper money saving post for a change0 -
Phone is over two years, and have checked serial number and is not one of the affected iphone 5 battery.
@milko - my phone is the same will suddenly drop from 30% down to 2% then switch off.
I don't think i'd be entirely comfortable with fitting the battery myself.0 -
Have you tried a dfu reset ?0

I recommend Iphone Bits in Newtownabbey. Have done several Android repairs for me very competively and as self-procliamed Iphone experts would imagine they also replace batteries.0

I was in Iphix beside the Bow Street Mall in Lisburn on Friday getting my daughters phone fixed, and I overheard another customer asking about an iphone battery, so know that they fit them, though don't know the cost, but I do know that they are cheaper for screen fixes than most other places out there, and come with a 6 month warrenty. This is the second time my daughter has dropped her phone and needed screen replaced and they do a top notch job for £28 (iphone4) so it may be worth giving them a ring to get a price.
