Applying for a new mortgage and not declaring current mortgage

To cut a long story short I bought a flat with my ex about 8 years ago.
The flat is still in mine and her's name but I have not had anything to do with it and ended up giving it to her years ago (unofficially as name still on there)
I decided to have a look at it last year as my name was still on it and it was 4k in arrears and where she had not paid ground rent they had put that on the mortgage and put it up by near 10k.
Anyway it's not not in arrears after i had to give her a few grand and mortgage payments are being made regularly.
So basally she wont sell it and so I can get off it.
I want to buy a new house with my current Mrs.
The mortgage is not showing up on my credit report and it's not showing me linked to her or anyone in any way.
Do you think I could apply for a mortgage and not mention the one I have as it isn't showing up?

it depends upon the questions asked. If asked "do you have any other mortgages?" and you answer no, then that is fraud.
If not asked, then you may be ok to proceed without declaring.0 -

Do they directly ask this question on a forms, I am assuming they must do?0 -
careful, as there is a section on the mortgage application form where it states to write down any current debts etc
if they then find out and you have not declared it...
have you checked all 3 of your credit files? (equifax/experian/call credit) , even though the mortgage may not show in your credit accounts your ex may show up in your 'financial associations', I know I had a joint mortgage before, it never showed up on my credit record but the other person showed up in the 'financial associations' and she was still there years after we settled the mortgage, I had to contact the credit reference agencies then they still insisted I had a connection via means of the mortgage with santander (they knew about this somehow even though it did not show on the file), and I had to call santander. I called santander and they confirmed my file was closed ages before so much so they did not even have a record of me!
cut a long story short at the end they removed this person from my financial associations!0
