Cashback with New Account but KEEPING Old Acc

Dear All, I want to set up a new Bank Acc so I can keep my new job income totally separate to make life easier when I need to do a Tax return and thought with all these incentives out there it would be silly not to go for one. My current bank is Halifax which seems the best one to switch to. When I look at others, they all want me to switch everything to them, I don't want to! M&S according to MSE doesn't require the full switch but when I called them they apparently do need everything switched over. I'm totally lost, just want to KISS (keep it simple stupid) but would like some of this cashback or am I asking too much?
