Lowell phone calls constantly

Lowell keep harassing me for a debt I definitely do not owe or have any knowledge of, I have checked my credit reports in case it was fraud and nothing comes up either.

They phoned and my husband answered and passed me the phone and said press one, and it ended the call. Since I have non stop calls waking us up at all hours.

What can I do to stop these calls, it is beyond a doubt unreasonable harassment. I suspect changing the home number would only be a temporary deterrent.

Comments

  • Write to them, recorded delivery, telling them:

    a) You are not the person they are seeking.
    b) They are harassing you.
    c) You will only deal with them in writing.
    d) You will report them for harassment to the Financial Conduct Authority if the calls do not stop immediately.

If that fails, come back on here for further advice.

    Dear Lowell,

    COMPLAINT

You are constantly calling my number in regard to a debt that is not mine.
This must cease immediately, I consider your actions to be harassment.
If you must contact me further, please only do so in writing, otherwise I will report your actions to the FCA.
Please remove all numbers you hold on your systems for me as a matter of course.

    Hi fawns

Nothing wrong with sourcrates's template above, but just offering our version as an alternative option:

I've been contacted by Fredrickson International and also Capquest about debts owed by other people and both of them stopped contacting me when I called them once and informed them they had the wrong number.

For efficiency's sake I'd try speaking to them on the phone and then follow up with a letter if you don't get anywhere.

If you do decide to go down this route, withhold your number by dialling 141 before you dial their number. I know they already have your phone number but if they're already harassing you then you don't want to give them further proof that that number is active.
