Hello lovely DFWers - old timers and newbies. I hope not too many of you are suffering with flood water
and hugs to those of you that need them today. I have realised this summer that we are very lucky indeed here.
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will do the following:
- check online banking and update spreadsheet
- make sure as many appliances as poss are switched off at the wall
- use only the storecupboard/freezer for meals today
- do clicks and surveys
- not increase my debt in any way
- be positive
- not use the car for any unnecessary journey - DS is going to try the bus today
- accept a bank charge claim offer
- arrange orange wednesday ticket for DD and DS to use tomorrow
- send a birthday present out from the present cupboard
- do some admin work!!
I hope everyone has a good (and dry) day xx
