Drinking water

I have recently moved to a new employer. There is no kitchen facilities and we have to fill kettle from a bath tap. There is only one sink which is in a bathroom which we have to use also to wash any dishes. Should an employer provide a separate sink which is not inside a bathroom for washing dishes and for getting drinking water? Even after boiling the water does not taste right to drink

Why would the water taste any different if its from a bathroom tap or a kitchen tap?

    Comes from a storage tank?

Just been reading the HSE's "Welfare at work Guidance for employers on welfare provisions" online, plus info from my trade union. Looks like your employer should provide access to drinking water and a room where it is clean to eat your lunch. I wouldn't want to drink water from the bathroom. Either get your union rep to see if the employer's facilities are within the law or take your own bottle of water from home. If you take sandwiches in a bag, you can eat them out of the bag without touching them & won't have a plate to wash up. Shouldn't be like this in the 21st Century. Turns out my employer's "mixed loos" (row of cubicles) are against recommendations too.

youre not filling from the hot tap are you? Even if the water is not heated up it will be from a storage tank (If such a system supplies your heated water) and will indeed taste foul.

Make sure youre taking your water from the rising main, should taste OK
