"i can pay the mortgage but that doesn't show up on their system"
Undeclared income ???
no not at all, im not in arrears either but i can argue till im blue in the face that i can afford the mortgage but they dont go on that and when they do the credit check, because im on a DMP it will come back as bad therefore i "cant afford" it.No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
There is 99% no chance the lender is going to remove your Wife.
So long as you continue to pay the mortgage, there is no chance they will take the property off you.
Your Wife may not be happy with the situation, although again nothing she can really do. Dependent upon children ages, no court is going to allow a forced sale.
That said, I think you need to appreciate the severity of the DMP you voluntarily entered into.
The bank will not decline removal of your Wife on whether you can/cannot afford the mortgage. Based upon you defaulting on your unsecured debts and paying back at a lower than agreed terms and therefore your credit profile is negatively affected.
Well worth getting close to your credit file, remember defaults come off 6 years from registration and you and your Wife can plan her exit route from the mortgage/property.
