getting a visit from the bailiff

I got a letter from the court/bailiff office saying they will come and take my goods if I don't pay the amount owed. I'm happy to pay but cannot pay in full and I've tried to call but nobody answers and now the office is closed. Are there other people I can call to get the issue sorted before the weekend?
The funny thing is the letter was sent to a house I've not lived at for 3years but know the people there and obviously their not happy.
Edit
According to the cab I can contact the creditor to stop action I've tried this but they say the account isn't with them and gave me a number but goes back to the debt collection company who them gave me another number but they keep hanging up on me

well they are going to turn up at that house , not yours!
ask the new occupant's to be helpful , not pass your location on and show the bailiffs ID , and if necessary ring the police. this should give you some time to sort things0 -
I'm assuming this is a warrant of control on a county court judgement.
If you want to stop this properly, you're going to have to suspend the warrant and vary the order - presume CAB also told you this

What is the nature of the debt?
Finance?
Council Tax?
Court Fine?
HMRC?0 -
I'm not sure! I've not had anything from the court prior to this, if I did I would have been on it!
I got hold of the company who asked for bailiff action as their name is under the section "creditor" but the guy I spoke to had nothing on his system about action being taken.
I'm not sure who the debt came from but it's for just shy of £300.0 -
You need to find out, what kind of debt it is.
A bailiff's powers vary, depending on the kind of debt.0 -

I would be willing to be maybe a mobile phone contract or some kind of finance no rent or council issues.0

Given the letter went to a previous address, is it possible this is something (rent, CT, utilities, etc.) related to your occupation of that address?
Did you correctly close out all accounts, when you moved out?0 -
If you phone the court (Monday, now) they will tell you what was on the particulars of claim. If you disagree that you owe this, you will need to get it set aside
