Ikea Lamb Shank meal for £2.95 (with family card)

Not sure where to post this but I think this is the right place. We were amazed when we visited Ikea last night and saw the Lamb Shank with mash, peas and minted gravy for £2.95 if we used our Ikea family card (which is free). Even the price of £5.25 without the card it seems worth it.

So two lamb shank meals, 2 teas (free with card) came to £5.90. I bet nowhere in the UK you can get that cheaper.

This offer runs after 5pm Mon-Friday only but well worth it.

  • You would be hard pushed to find it at the original price anywhere. £2.95 is probably cheaper than making it yourself.
Do the family cards give you free unlimited coffee, too?
Love the ambience, prefer it to a 'restaurant' (although ours has upgraded from 'canteen feel' to 'restaurant feel'.
You don't have that 'waited upon pressure' you get in a restaurant...you just chill out, kind of feel like you're on holiday.
The spuds are great. They also have a really good in-house bottled dark/reg lager for £1.
Obscenely cheap. What's not to love about this place. Except you can't find your way out.
The staff are very helpful also, friendly (Braehead, Glasgow)

Meals at Ikea are excellent value. I guess it's a loss leader to get you into the store. Maybe Tesco should try it!

Don't forget, from the 27th Nov if you buy a real Christmas tree for £25, you will get a £20 gift voucher.

I agree with you it is very good at Ikea also the food you can buy to take away. Tesco caf! in ours is not very good and they are really missing an opportunity to get customers in that way and they have plenty of space where they could put a really nice caf!.

Costco had a four pack of vacuum packed Lamb Shanks for £9.98 last month. If you got some frozen mash or cheap potatoes then you could almost make the same meal as cheaply at home. I would guess that Ikea are using something very similar to the Costco Lamb Shanks anyway.
  • A great deal, I got the lamb shank and the Christmas tree, so hopefully lamb shank offer will still be on when I use my £20 voucher in Janaury!
