This really needs sorting

Hiya everyone,

I posted a few years ago about needing to sort my debt out. But did not get to far. I now it needs sorting and the time has come to get it gone. I want to be debt free, I want to buy a home for me and my lb, I want to not have the worry hanging over me.

I am currently a student and so I don't have a lot to pay of my debts. I feel like I have no way out a lot of the time, I cant earn more as I will be worst off, leaving university has crossed my mind a few times, but that will leave me with more debt and no qualification.

So I plan on paying my monthly repayments and trying to cut back even more and selling things to make that extra bit to pay off.

I really want to be debt free by the time I leave university (I am in my 2nd year) and I was hoping to have a deposit by then to buy a house. I am soo disappointed that I am in this situation. I should be buying a house now and building our future, instead I am stuck, not moving anywhere fast in all aspects.

So that's me... I would put the dreaded figure, but I need to find all paperwork out, so will do that over the weekend when I have time.

Any advice or tips would be great. I will keep you all up to date on my progress, if any is made hahaha.

    Hi Onwayup
My first thought was, how much income do you have & how much debt? Is it student loans, student overdrafts etc? Or is it credit cards or other debt?
Because of the way student loans work if it's mainly that then the interest is so low try not to worry to much. It's designed to be paid back when you earn a certain amount.

Are you in halls or living in your own rented accommodation?

    Hi onwayup

Good idea to sort out debt now before you qualify as it will keep you motivated to get that great job!

Posting a SOA here will let the knowledgeable make suggestions to how to do it and you might be pleasantly surprised.
