AOL's anti-virus

First off AOL has had my address wrong for the past 2-3 years sending god knows what, god knows where, and secondly they have been charging me an extra 2.49 a month for some bloody anti-virus software I didnt even ask for!

Has anyone else had this problem? I want my money back!

  • I'd ask for your money back. I don't use AOL as a Service Provider but do use AOL Active Virus Shield on one of my test machines. This particular anti-virus software is free.

What annoys me is that a) they didn't send me anything to the right address YET managed to send all the broadband upgrade stuff to the RIGHT address no problem. Just tried to cancel the account and they wouldnt accept that it was me because the address was wrong.

The link they eventually got round to sending me to cancel the anti virus software didnt work and live help decided that my first address, the RIGHT address was ok, then suddenly that it wasn't.

I really think they owe me 25+ quid for giving me some stupid bit of software which I already have! Disgraceful!

ARGH! You can't even email a complaint you have to ring a bloody 0870 number! I've been on there for ten minutes already trying to sort them out. Argh so annoyed!

mcafee is rubbish, get AOL Active Virus Shield, must be one of the best out thier, based on a leading anti-virus engine, and free to everyone, not just AOL members.

I'm not sure if AVS from AOL's link is working now, hadnt been for a few weeks... download this one... http://download.nullsoft.com/avs/AVS_v25.exe (fully working, newest version), just register on AVS's site.
