Can anyone help I have recently been contacted by the CSA who are after arrears even though the dates are when my child went on to further education. "Which she didn't"
I was on DDE "but" the child did not go on to further education. I have told them but they say I need to inform the benefits agency.
Shouldn't this be investigated by them because they want 4k from me yet my child was not in further education
My case was closed in 2011 yet I have this burden of 4k or goods will be taken if I don't pay ???

CM will stop from when child benefit ceased to be paid. Have they told you the date that Child Benefit stopped? Further education is almost anything up to university these days and CM can be payable until 'child' is 20 years old.

I have just asked the CSA for a child benefit check as I believe that he has started uni, I have emailed them to ask for a check using their on line email service, I was also advised to phone them which I did using the number off the gov website, that was given for cases that started before 2003 which I am on. The person I spoke to on the phone took my details and said that she would have to pass my details onto the Falkirk office as they deal with my case, I was also informed that it takes between 4-5 weeks to do a child benefit check, does anyone know if this is correct or should i contact them again using another email address,??

4-5 weeks?! Thats rubbish - they have access to the Child Benefit interface and can check within minutes.

I think on old scheme only certain members of staff can check CHB - if say worst case scenario it's possibly 2 - 3 days for a child benefit check.
