my last email thread from nectar was deleted because of the maximum spend rule, so I'm not too sure if this post is within the guidelines but as its not technically money but points you have to use to get it I thought it would be ok to post, but if I have broke the rules again I'm sorry but I cant see it on your terms and conditions)

1. Nectar points will be deducted from your Nectar account at the time the Nectar Double Up voucher is issued.
2. Nectar points can be exchanged for a Nectar Double Up voucher at 1000 points, 2,000 points, 3,000 points or 4,000 points. Customers exchanging 1000 points will receive a £10 Nectar Double Up voucher (usually equivalent to 2,000 points in Sainsbury's); 2,000 points will be exchanged for a £20 Nectar Double Up voucher (usually equivalent to 4,000 points); 3,000 points will be exchanged for a £30 Nectar Double Up voucher (usually equivalent to 6,000 points); or 4,000 points will be exchanged for a £40 Nectar Double Up voucher (usually equivalent to 8,000 points). Only one Nectar Double Up voucher will be issued per category per Nectar card. ......................................

Its a bit of a way off but it could benefit you.
I personally was planning on using some of my nectar points on my next Sainsbury's shop but after seeing this I think I will wait (there are a pair of wellington boots I had my eye on so I think I will get them on the double up):)

Thank you OP. I have quite a lot of points and was hoping there'd be a double up offer in the run up to Christmas.

The difficult bit now will be deciding whether to spend the voucher on gifts for others or treat myself to one of the many kitchen gadgets I want for myself...

Would someoby be kind enough to explain to me how Nectar points work, please? Sorry to sound dim but I usually shop at Tesco and know where I am with their vouchers etc.

On my last Sainsburys till receipt it says my previous points balance is 7,955 and my points are worth 39.77. Am I right in thinking I can exchange 6,000 of those points for vouchers worth £60?

Do I need to decide before exchanging them which department I will spend them in and is there a date they have to be spent by?

Yes I believe if that is your balance it will be worth double between the 19th and 25th of November. And yes you will need to decide what department you wish to spend it in first.

Customers may exchange their saved Nectar points for a Nectar Double Up voucher at participating stores during the promotional period up to a maximum of 4,000 Nectar points per participating category (that's equivalent to exchanging Nectar points worth £20 for a Double Up voucher worth £40 per participating category).The promotional period is from 00.00am 19th November - 11.59pm 25th November 2014. Nectar Double Up!

That has rather put a spanner in my works as I was planning on buying a lot more than £20 on wine .
I'm thinking though that if you have more than £20 on your card you can just pick more than one department to use the double up vouchers on, as long as each department doesn't exceed £20 . Or if your like me who has two nectar cards with healthy balances you can pick the same department for both cards so you can benefit.
Looks like I have just taken the spanner out and will be getting all the wine I want on double up after all and some wellies too.:dance::dance:
