Help please

Hi, i defaulted on a credit card back in 2003 and unknown to me HFC turned my credit card account into a 10 year loan on 0% paying back £9 a month..all with a new account number (found this out on a statement they sent out 2 years ago..which i then stopped paying).
HFC then sent my file to a debt agency saying i had defaulted on the loan (2 defaults?).
5 weeks ago i asked for the terms and conditions of this loan as i never agreed to a new credit agreement and never received anything from HFC but all parties have now gone quiet and nothing is happening.
What is the best step to getting this non agreement off my credit file please?
Thankyou.

  • If they cannot provide valid agreement documents, write to them asking that the default be removed as they are unable to prove it is valid.

  • This would be sent to the original "lender" and not the debt company?

    Thanks in advance.

It makes no difference, as the DCA has a duty to pass on correspondence to the "client" anyway, send to whoever is writing to you.
