Where to buy a coloured wedding dress?

I'm getting married in February and I'm struggling to find a wedding dress. I like the more unusual styles (medieval, gothic, etc) and I really don't suit white or ivory.
I've looked in a couple of bridal shops but other than the occasional red dress, they don't seem to have much that would suit me.
I don't want to risk buying a knock-off from China, but I can't seem to find many UK based websites. I can't find ANY alternative wedding dress shops where I could go to try dresses on.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I don't know where in the UK you are, but I've seen lots of "alternative" dresses in Brighton, Camden and Manchester (Afflecks Palace). Failing that, you could always find a local seamstress to make something for you.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

There's The Couture Company in Birmingham. They specialise in alternative style wedding dresses:

I've also come across Black Orchid Gowns who are based in Stourbridge. The website's not brilliant, but they have a fair few coloured dresses modelled by alternative looking models:

Finally Rivendell Bridal in Somerset. They do medieval/fairy/elven designs:

If you're willing to buy online, I've heard good things about Moonmaiden. They make gothic clothing (lots of velvet if that's your thing) and whilst they don't do wedding clothing as such they make lots of gowns that would fit the bill:

If you let us know where you're based OP I may be able to find some places closer to you.0 -

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a look at the recommended sites.
I'm based in Cumbria, so I could possibly take a trip to Mancester to have a look around.0 -
Yes gorgeous medieval dresses on Ebay quite often - how about dark green? Should look stunning.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

Would Yorkshire be doable? The Dark Angel are based in West Yorkshire, and they do lots of medieval style gowns:
