drydenfairfax collecting for northenrock mortgage arrears

Hi all,
This is my first post, so like others before me sorry if I have posted on the wrong page !
Anyway I am looking for advice regarding drydenfairfax, I had a mortgage with northenrock from 2004-2008 . I bought a dump of a flat in desperation after a breakup and after 4 years of nitemare neighbours had enough and put keys through letterbox never to return, not the smartest move I know.
Anyway , the account went into default and to cut a long story short, a few years later I received a letter from diss piper ? Whom I arranged a payment plan with, I then found out the account had been bought by drydenfairfax, I acknowledged the debt, 2012, and arranged a payment plan, I had the payments returned to my account and when I contacted Dryden was told problem was at my end. After contacting my bank and explaining the situation was told everything was fine at my end and the problem was with Dryden. So, I haven't heard anything in over a year despite me contacting them and I now want to apply for a mortgage with my partner. Will this show up on my credit file and prevent me from obtaining a mortgage ? And do I have to make contact with them again and 're_intimate a payment plan ?

Sorry if I haven't explained my situation fully but I'm inexperienced on these matters and desperately need some advice!

thanks for any help
