Replacement roof costs

No recent threads on this, so interested to see what the case is now (if anyone knows that is!).
I have a two bed semi with the original roof still on which is around 80 years old. The construction is joists, battens, slates. No weatherproofing or insulation whatsoever.
Over the years I've had one or two slates blow off, but have always replaced these myself and thankfully have never had more than a minor leak. However, I'm now getting to the point where I don't want to clamber about on the roof any more, so I'm going to bite the bullet and have the whole roof redone properly.
What I want to know is, what sort of cost should I be looking at? I'm more interested in the labour end, as I may have a couple of pallets of slates available. Roof size is approx 50m2.
Anyone got similar work done recently and has an idea of cost?

A 3-bed semi re-done in fibre cement slates cost me just over £3000 about five years ago. If you have no hips/valleys, you'd like to think you'll get closer to £2000-2500 to include felt, battens etc. Deduct say £1 for each slate you have but obviously make sure you can get more of the same.0

We got a guy from RatedPeople.com, did roof work for us but not a full replacement.0

I'm expecting to pay around £2K for the actual labour and skip, scaffolding etc. That sort of falls in with what you're suggesting kiwicoop.
I'm hoping family will have enough slate (two new builds recently both with over a pallet of slate left) but I may have to go down the fibre cement route anyway as this has to tie in with my neighbour and that is what he has used. I have a feeling the natural slates might be around 6mm compared to his 3mm so I don't want the job ending up looking horrible because of the difference between his roof and mine.
Still lots to consider, but at least I'm being realistic in my budget.
Cheers!0
