New job won't acept old pension fund transfer

    Hello again everyone

    Further to the thread above, I have another quick question. Is it possible for me to transfer this pension fund to one that is held in my wife's name? In particular, would I have to pay tax on it?

    My reasoning is that we would then take a short holiday on making contributions to my wife's pension and put money in a more accessible pot ready to be used as the deposit for a house...

    Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

    Not unless you divorce.

    Just in case anyone reads this thread from new, the information in the 2007 posts is now obsolete. AXA have sold their UK life and pensions business and are focusing on wealth management now and their current offering is more niche market than the plans that were mentioned on this thread.
