Sorry in advance if being a bit dim. Went to nissan yesterday, went through figures and was told car would be available in five weeks. Salesman was completing paperwork wit me thinking why is he doing all this when we haven't applied for finance yet. So asked when will finance be decided and he was like it was a done deal. Said he would try to apply for fiance today if not Monday. Why do they not do it there and then?

Perhaps he had an appointment with another customer and wanted to get you out of the showroom. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Well he did mention a 2pm appointment but said she was late, so perhaps that's what it was0

Sounds like he went the extra mile to make the customer feel special.
You can guess what they will be like if there is a problem with it.0 -
A franchise did this to my friend, I think they were just really convinced he was going to pass (even if you fail a computerised car finance check, a lot of the times a franchise manager can override this decision).
Meanwhile when I bought my car on finance, they did a check there and then, but didn't ask for my income, only my type of job and type of business.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

No I was confused why they didn't ask my salary, just where I worked and how log I worked there0

They never asked with Audi finance. Name, address, date of birth and employer. I could have been the cleaner for all the financials they asked
I would have thought affordability would be assessed0 -
only if its a very high purchase, £20k plus do they normaly askDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

If it were my business I would want to make my mug customer who is about to over pay by £1000s feel special too!!0
