  • Depends on what they are made from. Venetians can be unclipped and popped in the bath. If they are a type of plastic coated material then you may be able to remove then and wipe with a half white vinegar half water solution, although test on an inconspicuous area first. You may find that being in the kitchen, they have a layer of tacky grease. It may be impossible to remove without damaging the blind, so you might have to fork out for new ones.

  • Recently had to clean two large blinds at my mums house that were really grubby and I used Flash kitchen degreaser spray. Spray it on and I started at the tops of blinds and worked down, this was the only way I could get a streak free finish. You obviously have to wipe along every slat and I rinsed the cloth out just with water with a bit of washing up liquid. It boring but quite satisfying to see sparkling blinds at the end and was much better than replacing them.

In the past I have stuck smaller ones in the bath and used washing up liquid and drip dried them on the rotary dryer but didn't come up as nice.
Hope that helps...recommend this product as it does make light work of stubborn grime.
I got it from wilko (the degreaser spray...orange nozzle) also seen it in poundland if that helps
  • If they are venetian put on a pair of exfoliator gloves, spray with cleaner then just run your fingers along them.

Venetian can be tied onto a washing line and washed with a car sponge & then hosed off. Leave to dry.
