Back to the original post...

I ordered a cookery book from a great read after seeing an offer either on here or hot deals.

I dont understand the whole book club thing?
Have I signed up to some sort of commitment?

Probably wise to read the terms and conditions before you buy...but happily this time you should be fine.

Membership To become a member all you need is to buy £20-worth of books in one year - and your first order counts towards the £20. After that, you can order as much or as little as you want. Look out for special occasions when we waive the membership/joining fee and you can join for nothing! No monthly subscriptions No direct debits leaving your account unnoticed every month. No hidden catches. At A Great Read it's just a simple up-front, one-off fee. (And if you haven't already, it's worth checking here to see if the fee has been waived at the moment.)
Why do you call yourselves a book club? Being a book club means that we have special relationships with publishers. This means that we're able to offer you books at very competitive prices. Will you send me books I don't want? Definitely not! In the old days book clubs often sent their 'suggested reads' but, for A Great Read, those days are long gone. Be assured, the only books you receive are the ones you ordered.

Does that mean I have to order £20 worth of books within a year?
Does it mean you can apply a £20 charge at any time?
