Halifax mortgage payment holiday chances

Hi
Never done this before but thinking of requesting a payment holiday on a mortgage we've had for three and a half years (just below 75% LTV).
Does the bank do a credit check to confirm eligibility as well as checking LTV and the time you've had the mortgage/no missed payments etc?
Many thanks

The lender will wish to know the reasons behind the request along with checking your credit history.0

I tried to remortgage to pay off debts when I was in a bit of trouble.
I had £40k equity and 10k would have solved mg problems.
I failed their credit score but they did offer me a payment holiday which was ever so nice of them.
It went through no problem with the holiday period added into the value of my mortgage.Save 12k in 2014 member 056
