Getting information on my pension

I have a frozen benefits pension with a previous employer, for which I do not receive any annual information.
As I am heading towards retirement age, I contacted them in July to ask for an update on this.
Since then, despite phone calls and emails, I have still not received the information I need.
Am I being unfair, does it really take more than 15 weeks to forward this information to me?
I don't know who to contact next about this, so would appreciate some advice.

First, why not make a formal complaint to the company in question? And also contact TPAS.Stephen Covey once said that "when you teach once, you learn twice". That is the primary reason for my participation on the forums as an IFA.
Although I strive to provide accurate information in my posts, there may be the odd time when I fail. Yes I know it's hard to believe but even Your Hero can make mistakes. Apologies in advance.0 -
Do you know what type of Scheme it is, i.e. DB (final salary) or DC (stakeholder etc)?
Do you know who the pension provider is? Generally employers, except for very large corporates, don't run their own pension schemes. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
frozen benefits pension
Do you mean a deferred defined benefits pension?
Have you tried looking up your scheme on the internet? A number of companies have contact links for their pensioners.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
It is a final salary pension which has been frozen since I left work. The firm is Aon Hewitt who run it for Newcastle University.
I have asked the one contact who has replied to me for the name of the person in charge of this department and their contact details. I will also get in touch with TPAS - who I did not know existed until now.
Thanks again.0 -

Have you seen the above?

The above is a Members' Guide. It contains a great deal of information about the Scheme.
"Keeping the right to a preserved
pension
If you choose to receive a deferred pension from
the Plan when you retire, your pension will be
calculated in the same way as shown on page 8,
but based on your Final Pensionable Salary and
Pensionable Service on your date of leaving
employment or leaving the Plan if earlier:"0 -
